Divertimento of Leamington Spa. Music for Voices

Gallery

This is Sheila Koch, our Musical Director. She is responsible for making sure we sing all the right notes, all the time. She's not happy about having her picture in here but the rest of us think it's time you got to see more than just the back of her head. Now you can see the lovely smiley face that the choir gets to see all the time.

The Sopranos. Not quite as menacing as the TV series, (except when they're sight reading). The sopranos usually get the easy bit (ie. the tune) but they do have to sing very, very high.

The Altos. They'd have you believe that they work much harder than the sopranos. Actually, they do. Most of the music written for alto chorus is fiendishly difficult (I'm so glad I'm a soprano). However, Divertimento's altos take it all in their stride and give us a lovely, rich sound - and a bit of depth to balance the sopranos.
The Tenors. Everyone knows what the tenors do. They sing very high (and very loud - even though they say they don't). One of these gentlemen has defected to the basses and his place has since been taken by a new member but, unfortunately, we don't have a photo of him.
And last, but definitely not least, the Basses. Deep, dark and rich. And their voices aren't bad either. We rely on our basses to give us a good, solid foundation (and sometimes they do).
